Dear Parents,

Two locations this weekend: Pleasanton on Saturday and Cupertino on Sunday!

Swiss is always in the mornings
, and quads are always in the afternoon
Kids get trophies with winning record (50+% of max total score) and we give medals to all others.
It is NOT an elimination game, win or loose, players are expected to play all their game: 4 games in morning Swiss tournament, 3 games in the afternoon Quads tournament.
BayAreaChess submits the tournaments to USCF for rating within a few hours, so you can check the updated rating same day or early next morning.

Important notice for Quads: Please be sure to check in by 2:00pm.
Because Quads requires exactly four players per section, we want to ensure that all who register will show up. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please, register SOON to avoid late fee and to secure a spot for your child.
Tournaments are becoming more and more popular, and the capacity is limited at certain venues.

Should you have any question, or need help with registering, please do not hesitate to email:
ask@bayarechess.com and our team will get back to you super fast!

Many thanks,
Judit & BAC Team

You are Invited!

Dear Parents, and Players,

We are preparing for the 14th Annual Susan Polgar Foundation Open Championship for Boys and Girls and we hope that you can join us for this great and fun event!
This year the event is moved to the South Bay area to be closer to the center chess hub!

We are planning some very special side events, and fun things to spend your time between rounds and for Friday evening to warm up!

*** GM Susan Polgar will be of attendance on both days! Plenty of time to meet her, talk and take pictures with her, and ask any questions! ***

There are two different schedules:

  • All championship sections are 2-day events, with 3 rounds on both Saturday and Sunday.
  • The Reserve section players rated under500 in K-Grade6 or under800 in K-Grade12 as a one day event only, who should be coming on Saturday.

Did you attend the Spring States on March 9-10? This is a great continuation of that event, and great opportunity for any player to continue with their tournament "fever" :) Special for this tournament, that Girls and Boys are in different sections! Fun fun :)

Also, the winners of the Girls' sections are getting special invitation to the Girls Invitational in June!

Registration is not through BAC's website, but through www.spfno.com exclusively!

Should you have any questions or feedback, you now our inbox is always open: ask@bayareachess.com.

Many thanks for your continued support.
