An important note about the New Play-Up policy:
We returned the play-up
rule this summer from 300 points to 200 points. Here it is for the future reference:
1. 200-point minimum for the top section (because the 2000+ players do not want to play players with lower ratings - 200 points balances both sides).
2. 1 section up for all other sections (because the
section rating ranges vary across tourneys)
3. All ratings is based on the USCF Current Published
Rating Supplement
1. The Real Bay Area 2-day Championship
A 2-Day championship (on October 22-23 at Sonesta Silicon Valley in Milpitas) with Regular & FIDE Rated for the Top 2 Sections.
- 5 rounds of G/90 +30 (90 mins/game +30 secs/move for both players)
- $10,000 prize funds b/133
- 3 sections: 2000+ (FIDE), 1500-1999 (FIDE) & u1500

2. Blitz on Sunday October 23 after the above event at 6:30-8:30pm.
- 10 round robin rounds of G/5 d1 (5 mins/game with 5 secs delay/move for both players)
- Sections of 6 players based on USCF rating.
- Prize funds: $60 for top player, $40 to top player in the bottom half
