Dear Players and Parents,
We are missing the HS students from the Denker Qualifier! Please, register NOW so that we can select a strong representative for the Denker National Champions.
Why we need the qualifiers?
Barber and Denker National Tournament of Champions is a prestigious event just right before the US Open Championship.
Every state sends a representative, and 50+ strongest players from each state is competing for the Championship.
This is an invitational tournament for any CalChess members to select to be the state representative for the National Champions tournaments.
Denker Qualifier: any player in Grade 9-12 with rating over 2000+;
The winner of the Denker is the official Northern California representative in the Denker Tournament of High School Champions. (More info: Denker Championship)
Barber Qualifier: any player in Grade K-8 with rating over 1800+;
The winner of the Barber Qualifier is the official Northern California representative in the Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions. (More info: Barber Championship)
I hope to see an amazing line of players, and the strongest competition yet to see for this talented and unique Northern California scholastic community!
If any player is close to the rating minimum, please email to ask@bayareachess.com for special consideration under TD discretion.

Denker Qualifier:
1 section for players over 2000+ for Grades 9-12th.
April 2019 Supplemental Rating.

$650 guaranteed for both Denker-, Barber Qualifier Tournaments:
$300 to CalChess Representative/1st Place
(player must attend respective National Tournament in order to receive prize)
