▶️ BAC in March: Volunteer Recognition, Chess.com, Lunch-Programs and a New Drop-in Club!
Published: Fri, 03/03/23
March is always a busy time for BAC. Spring trimesters open in many of our 100 school programs, there's a surge of interest in our Spring and Summer Camps (don't miss out!) and BAC organizes the CalState Scholastic State Championship (March 11-12 for Grades K-5). However, we also want to make sure not to overshadow some of the other offers we have; a few of which are mentioned below. Thank you for supporting Bay Area Chess. Volunteer Options with BAC! Bay Area Chess is a proud affiliate of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Students grade 7 and above may officially help us at Camps, Classes and Tournaments to satisfy volunteer-hour requisites or just to give back, all while qualifying for bonus awards and special recognition. Join us on Chess.com and Support Bay Area Chess! Many of our students 'grow out' of Chesskid.com (after ~age 13+ or rating 1600+). We want to help make the transition to Chess.com, the world's #1 site for live games, as seamless as possible. Join us via our affiliate link below and play in our Club of over 7000 players (opened in 2009!) Lunch-Time Chess Programs - Help us Spread the Joy! We know that not every school can have an afterschool Chess program and not every family could afford it if they did. As the leading non-profit chess provider, BAC can host a weekly open-play chess option during the lunch hour at your school where ALL students can be exposed to chess for supervised open-play, at no cost to families. Palo Alto, San Jose, Cupertino, Fremont, and a NEW CLUB opening in Santa Clara on Monday nights, starting 3/20/23.
