Special Udate - Introduction

Dear Parents, and Players,

Absolute LAST CALL to participate in the prestigious Susan Polgar event.
So many reasons to come to Livermore:
- Participate in a very strong tournament
- Win trophies, medals, and special prizes such as Webster Scholarship, invitations to a closed Girls' event, and so much more
- Boys and girls are playing in separate sections: Girls will only be playing with Girls!
- Meet and Greet GM Susan Polgar who is the single most famous icon of promoting female chess, and paving the way for all girls in chess
- Meet and have your game analyzed by GM Daniel Naroditsky - confirmed for Saturday appearance between 11AM-2PM
- Fun side events suck as blitz, puzzle solving competition.
- All this and so much more in an amazing venue where players have a great chance to get fresh air and walk around between round.

Venue: Livermore Recreation Center on the weekend of May 6-7th
Sections: For most players Championship sections - 2-day event, and it's based per AGE based on 12/31/16.
For K-Grade2 they can play in a 1-day event if they are rated under 500, and K-Grade6 they can play in a 1-day event if they are rated under 800.

I'm very much looking forward having all of you at the event, hanging out with all the kids, seeing them play chess, 
and most importantly learn and get inspiration from the famous GM Susan Polgar!

Championship sections - 2day tournament on Saturday and Sunday
10 Sections are based on AGE:


Under Age8, Under Age10
Under Age12, Under Age 14, Under Age16/18


How to determine? How old was the player on Dec 31st 2016?
That's the section s/he should go to.

Trophies to:
Top 15 players in each sections
Winning record required for trophy - medals to all others.
Added trophies to each section for best players under1000.

Top 3 School Team Trophies in each sections
Top 3 Club Team Trophies in each sections


Time Control & Round Times

Time Control: 6 rounds G/60;d5

Rounds: Saturday 9am, 11:30am, 2:30pm
Sunday 9am, 11:30am, 2:30pm
