Rising Star
A combo event for the young players AND their parents

1) a very first tournament for your child: a non-rated tournament where the tournament directors help players get familiar with the process, what they need to do, how they are expected to behave and what rules they need to follow.
AND
2) a seminar for the parents: an hour long seminar and Q&A session, where we gather all important information regarding tournaments, USCF, memberships and help you navigate thru the information. Great opportuntiy to ask any questions, and discuss any topic you might be interested in. We will have veteran coaches and experienced players to answer all your questios.

Dear Parents, and Players,

It's with great honor and expectation that BayAreaChess is taking over the organizer role for the 12^nd Annual Susan Polgar Foundation Open Championship for Boys and Girls.
I would like to thank Chris Torres and the Torres Chess and Music Academy for their preparation work, and GM Susan Polgar and her foundation for their trust in BAC to finish the planning and execute the event and to bring the annual SPFNO event to a next level.

The event is planned to happen as before: in the Livermore Recreation Center on the weekend of May 6-7^th. We are planning some very special side events, and fun things to spend your time between rounds.
There are two different schedules: All championship sections are 2-day events, with 3 rounds on both Saturday and Sunday. And we have the Reserve secton players coming only on Saturday.

Did you attend the Super States on 3/11-12? This is a great continuation of that event, and great opportunity for any player to continue with their tournament "fever" :)
I also hope that this event will give us, the chess community, an opportunity to show support and unity, and show everyone that we are here for each other and backup option and help is always there.
