THIS weekend is a special event for our newest chess players. The San Jose Rising Star event will be Bay Area Chess' opportunity for first
time players to play a non-rated tournament. Space is limited, so sign up now to guarantee your child's registration.
Coming up soon is the Kids Thanksgiving Championship, so register quickly to reserve your spot.
Late Fee will be turned on when space is becoming an issue (75-80% capacity), so don't wait any longer!

Times: 10am - 2pm
Rising Star Tournament
NON-RATED quad tournament in which the player is guided through
the process including etiquette, expectations, and everything else
Time Control: G/30; d5
(Game in 30 minutes with 5 second delay before each move.)
Prizes:
Trophies to all players who win all their games
Medals to everyone else
Rising Star Seminar
For first time parents to learn everything necessary to guide their
child through future tournaments

900-1299, 600-899, 300-599, under 300
Registration: 8:30-9 am
5 Rounds: 9:30 am, 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2 pm, 3:30 pm
Time Control: G/30; d5
(Game in 30 minutes with 5 second delay before each move.)
Prizes:
Trophies to top 10 players (with more wins than losses) in each section
Top 5 Clubs and Top 5 Schools in all sections combined
Medals to everyone else
